What: Organization that connects English speakers with Ukranians to assist with lanugage development and conversation skills.
Need: Tutors for Ukranians
FAMILY HOUSE OF PITTSBURGH
What: Organization providing housing at a reduced cost for those receiving medical care or whose family members are receiving medical care at local hospitals.
Need: Groups to volunteer to prepare meals for those staying at the House.
FARMER'S MARKETS IN PITTSBURGH
What: Various community organizations organizing farmer's markets in city neighborhoods.
Need: Workers for the farmer's markets!

412 FOOD RESCUE
What: Organization that rescues food and delivers to charities or other organizations for distribution.
Need: Volunteers to pick up food throughout the city (must have own car and, and to work at their Good Food Project in MIllvale, bagging groceries or working in the kitchen to prepare meals.
Of Note: Volunteers at the Good Food Project must be 16 years of age or older.
GREATER PITTSBURGH COMMUNITY FOOD BANK
What: Food bank supporting food insecure in the greater Pittsburgh area.
Need: Volunteers to work at distribution center, drive-up distributions, clerical support, etc. Sign up to receive information about upcoming events.
Of Note: Volunteers 12 and up are accepted, but minors must volunteer with an adult.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF GREATER PITTSBURGH
What: Organization that assists with building houses for those in need.
Need: Volunteers to help build; training is provided but participants must be at least 16 years of age.
HELLO NEIGHBOR
What: Organization that supports refugees in the Pittsburgh area.
Need: Volunteers for a variety of opportunities supporting refugees; sign up for a virtual information session to learn more!
LIGHT OF LIFE RESCUE MISSION
What: Organization serving those experiencing homelessness, poverty, or addiction.
Need: Volunteers (ages 13 and up) for a variety of activities, including meal prep and service, donation organization, etc.

What: Organization providing meals to those in need.

PITTSBURGH PARKS CONSERVANCY
What: Local organization that works with different groups on park projects.
Need: Volunteers to help at park events and projects.
PITTSBURGH PRISON BOOK PROJECT
What: Promote educational opportunities for incarcerated individuals in Pennsylvania.
Need: Volunteers to work at packing sessions, reading book request lists and selecting titles to ship.
RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE OF PITTSBURGH
What: Housing for those receiving care or their families at Children’s Hospital. They usually depend on groups coming in to cook, but currently are only allowing volunteers age 18 and older.
Need: Purchased meals for families- they are trying to have one meal per day provided for families.

SECOND HARVEST COMMUNITY THRIFT STORE
What: Thrift store in Sharpsburg with a mission to support the local community.
Need: Volunteers to sign up for shifts to help organize donations, price clothing, clean store space, etc.
SOUTHWESTERN VETERANS CENTER
What: Government organization supporting veterans.
Need: Volunteers to perform a variety of activities, including reading with residents, assisting during special events, assisting with clerical work, etc.

STEM CODING LAB
What: Ensuring digital literacy and education in underserved communities.
Need: Volunteers to assist with teaching young students; might only need volunteers in the fall, but reach out to them to find out!

What: Provides information on a variety of volunteer opportunities.
Need: Varies; sign up for email alerts to receive information about upcoming volunteer opportunities.
VITALANT- BLOOD DONATIONS
What: Blood bank collecting donations needed during medical treatments and emergencies.
Need: Donations to offset current shortage. Volunteer at one of the locations in the link below! Must be 16 years or older.
